Well I've been inspired by a certain bloggers, to try something new today. Namely stop focusing on my downers and think about some positives. Today I will focus on what my son does well and not the things that are difficult.
The most striking thing about Junior is what a people person he is. He is always up for a playdate, and his favorite part of school is interacting with the teachers and students. For other people he's always well behaved and respectful, not to mention helpful. He cleans up after himself and others and volunteers for jobs like crazy.
With other kids he is amazing. He can make friends with anyone. At the park he charms all the parents by asking them if their child would like to play with him. He has redirected kids bullying other kids into playing nicely. He can usually get the shyest of kids to join him in a game. He is very insightful about other kid's feelings.
My mother (somewhat jokingly) says she sees politics in his future. I don't think so. He mentions wanting to be a teacher fairly often. I can see that for sure. I think he will be involved in something dealing with lots of people.
We have a hard time keeping up with him, the one extrovert in a two generations of introverts. But I'm glad he's like that. It is so much harder to be someone who can feel alone in a crowd.
