Insanity is Hereditary... You get it from your kids.

That is so just cliche, isn't it? I always thought so. My mother used to quote that a me during my teen years on days she found me particularly annoying. I gave her the obligatory eyeroll in response.

Of course, just because something is cliche doesn't mean it not true. I understand my mom's sarcasm, now. She used to scoff at the concept of the terrible twos. Her response was that all the ages are terrible. And this from a person who really, really likes kids and spent lots of years teaching Sunday school and leading scout troops solo. Not everyone got her sense of humor, I imagine.

Having grown up with this, I think I gave in said good bye to my previous concept of sanity soon after Junior began to walk. I knew several other moms who fought it longer and were much more miserable as a result.
